In the aftermath of the devastating wildfires in New Mexico, thousands are working to rebuild their lives. Red Crossers are providing hope and comfort every step of the way. ❤️ Two fast-moving wildfires scorched more than 25,000 acres and forced as many as 8,000 people to leave their homes behind. As fire crews gain control and communities begin the journey to recovery, some families are finally returning to their neighborhoods. More than 150 volunteers from across the country remain on the ground to provide relief. So far, they have helped to provide: - More than 1,600 overnight stays at our shelters. - More than 8,000 meals and snacks. - Emotional and spiritual support. Once it's safe, our disaster teams will help assess the damage so that we can continue to meet the evolving needs of these communities in the days and weeks ahead. #NewMexico #NewMexicoStrong #Wildfires #SaltFire #SouthForkFire #DisasterRelief #DisasterResponse #ThankYouVolunteers
