After a family became trapped in a rip current, these Marines stepped up and saved their lives. A day at the beach took a terrifying turn when two teenage girls were swimming in the ocean. Their dad noticed they were being pulled out by the current. He tried to rescue them but was caught by the current, too. That's when Marine lifeguards on duty sprung into action. They called first responders and jumped into the water. Thanks to their quick efforts, the dad and his two daughters were safely brought back to shore. These Marines were recognized with Red Cross Lifesaving Awards for Professional Responders by RedCrossNC.
