When Adriana was born, she was diagnosed with thalassemia major, a rare genetic blood disorder that affects her body’s ability to produce healthy red blood cells and leads to severe anemia. This condition deprives her body of the oxygen it needs to thrive.
Adriana began receiving blood transfusions at just 11 weeks old to treat her severe symptoms, and because of generous blood donations, she is a happy and energetic 6-year-old today!
Adriana will continue to rely on lifesaving blood transfusions every 3-4 weeks throughout her life, and her family is very thankful for the blood donors who help keep their little girl strong and energetic. ❤️
