Fanny's life in South London took an unexpected turn after she suffered a stroke. Recently, the 75-year-old was hospitalized again because the doctors suspected that she had another one.
After Fanny was discharged from the hospital, the BritishRedCross supported her through their Independent Living Program. This program provides assistance with groceries, delivery of prescription medication, and other care for people after hospital stays.
Daniel, one of the dedicated caseworkers from the Red Cross, became Fanny's helping hand. He helped her order groceries like butter, bread, and milk every week.
"I've had so much help from the Red Cross. With the shopping, they are very good," Fanny shared. "They're on time and they don't fail. They have said I can always ask for help if I am ever in need."
The British Red Cross plays a vital role in hospitals across England through their Independent Living Program. They help people maintain a sense of independence amidst health challenges.
