While at a gathering, she witnessed an infant choking and struggling to breathe and stepped in to save their life. “After making an initial assessment and obtaining consent, I jumped right into it with the ‘infant choking method,’ recalled Venus. “After a set of five stomach thrusts and five back blows, I heard a clear cry which was music to my ears. The baby was safe and sound.” It’s people like Venus who make a lifesaving impact during times of crisis.
