27+ hiking miles over 3 days for us, Carson tagged out on his elk hunt last week! I’ve been there for bits of pieces during hunting season over the past 10 years or so with Carson, but I always like to send him with his friends or family before I agree to go 😅 Well, between needing to leave his hunt for his sister’s wedding, packing up horses and driving 7+ hours one way, this hunt wasn’t lining up with just anyone’s schedules, but mine!! I’d cleared my entire October for hunting season, so with my open calendar, I packed for 7 days and after one long Monday, we set out!! For some reason this hunting seasons feels a little more special, in the sense that I am more understanding of just how lucky we are to do this, and just how much work it is to hunt and pack out a large animal.
