Tonight, the Smola Cup returns to Queen's. Named in honour of men's volleyball founder Vaclav Smola, the tournament celebrates a legacy that helped shape the program for generations. Following Vaclav's passing in 1995, his wife Jarmilla remained a devoted supporter and steadfast champion of Queen's Men's Volleyball until her passing this July. As part of this year's tournament, we're honoured to share the Smola family's story and the men's volleyball legacy they built at Queen's. We also welcome their son, Filip Smola, back to campus to present the Smola Cup in his father and mother's honour.
