10 years ago, on 2 September 2016, Moonlight premiered at Telluride Film Festival! Barry Jenkins' instant classic, starring Trevante Rhodes, André Holland, Janell Monáe, Naomie Harris and Mahershala Ali, centres on the character of Chiron and the difficulties he faces with his identity as a Black gay man. Moonlight is cited as one of the best films of the 21st century and won three Oscars at the 89th Academy Awards, including its infamous win for Best Picture, in which presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Runaway mistakenly announced La La Land as the award's recipient 🏆 #moonlight #oscars #bestpicture #queertiktok #popculture
