I promise it's true. I said I was done drinking lots of times before I finally stopped for good. My mom begged me to stop drinking and so did a lot of other people. When I was pregnant with my son, I had a friend who actually told me she wished I was pregnant forever because I was such a better friend and better person when I wasn't drinking. I heard them and I felt their compassion but it didn't compare to what I would have to face if I admitted I had a problem. I couldn't cope without it. I was a walking talking ball of anxiety and emotions. I would make promises, make excuses, anything to avoid facing the truth and acknowledging the embarrassment that I was when I was drunk. I would tell people who tried to show me videos or pictures of me they had taken while we were partying and I would always say "No I black out for a reason." What kind of crappy excuse is that? I thought I was really fooling people but I wasn't even fooling myself. If you are struggling with coping mechanism...
