Nothin like sharing the magic of ocean artivism with students on a be-au-ti-ful day! 🌞 This week, with our longtime friends at pangeaseed, we were lucky to hang out with 5th graders from the donaldmckayk8school in East Boston, Massachusetts and check out some of the amazing murals outside of their school from seawalls_ 😎 The students shared with us what they noticed in marka_27’s piece, “Espíritu Del Mar” and oh_sabeedee’s piece “Sea Keepers | Guardianes Del Mar,” and we spent some time talking about it together and connecting observations (for all our teachers out there, we used Visual Thinking Strategies). Then, we created spoken word poems together out of words that the murals made them think of. By the end, they walked away from the murals with a whole new level of respect for the art and our ocean!
