It’s #FeatureFriday and we wanted to introduce y’all to mvthought, one of our We All Rise Prize Advisory Committee members! 🙌 We were stoked to learn about Marquis’s artist journey 🎨⛵ and hear one of his dope spoken word pieces 🎤 at our We Rise Webinar about a month ago (recording is on our website). Swipe 👈 to get to know him! As the Founding Executive Director of elevated_thought, Marquis leads the vision 👓, goals, and mission, and manages the contracts, commissions, and partnerships 🤝 of this art and social justice org in Massachusetts. On top of being an artist 🎨 and poet ✍🏽, he has a master’s degree in Education from lesleyuniversity and is now working on getting his doctorate in Education at northeastern! As part of our We All Rise Prize Advisory Committee, Marquis will be helping choose entries for our new We All Rise Prize celebrating U.S. Black, Indigenous, and Latina/o/e voices in the 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest.
