All life on Earth is interconnected. What happens on one side of the planet affects life across the globe. Pollution from our most densely populated, industrialized cities, harms the health of people living in rural areas. Sea level rise, caused by the carbon emissions from corporate industry, overtakes coastal communities and entire island nations who will never see the economic returns of that industry. . While humanity has the ability to destroy, we also have the ability to heal and preserve. The regulation of industry and protection of lands reaps benefits for all life. Humans need healthy lands and oceans, clean air and water to survive, and by protecting ecosystems and the plants and animals that live in that habitat, we all benefit from a healthy planet. Our fates are intertwined. . Featured artwork "Tear of the Earth" by Cailin Becky K. becky_kim_jaerim (age 15, California) .
