The COVID-19 pandemic has illuminated the connections between the climate crisis and issues of public health. The destruction of forests and other wild habitats both increases the rate of global warming and increases the likelihood of human-wildlife contact, which in turn increases the likelihood of disease spreading from wildlife to humans. . Corporate greed is responsible for much of this destruction, but more and more people across the globe are waking up to the understanding that nature has value far greater than that of short-term profits. .
