Mayor Mamdani and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Monday an expansion of free child care for 2-year-olds across New York City. The 2-K program started this school year with 2,000 seats across Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan and Queens. Next school year, that number increases to 12,000 seats across all five boroughs.
