While announcing a $29.2M award to NYU to establish a new Quantum Fabrication Facility in New York City Wednesday, Mayor Mamdani quipped that he is among the greats when it comes to influential scientists. Mamdani said the facility, QFab, will give researchers, students, start-ups and established companies access to specialized equipment for building and testing new quantum devices. As part of the Mamdani administration’s investment, the city will receive board seats at the facility, as well as a stake in new technologies that emerge from it. QFab is expected to open in 2030. #nyc #mamdani #politics #regents
