There were six gold medals on offer on Day 4 of the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The men's 400m hurdles was one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Championships, not only because it featured local hero Abderrahman Samba, but also because three men were close to breaking the world record. In the end, reigning world champions Karsten Warholm of Norway retained his title, finishing ahead of Rai Benjamin in silver and Samba in bronze.
Mariya Lasitskene made it three straight World Championship golds in the women's high jump. Lasitskene and Yaroslava Mahuchikh both cleared 2.04m, but Lasitskene's cleaner record handed her the title. Mahuchick set a new U20 record in winning silver, and Vashti Cunningham won bronze.
There was a surprise winner in the women's 800m as Uganda's Halimah Nakaayi set a new national record of 1:58.04 to claim the gold, with American duo Raevyn Rogers and Ajee Wilson winning silver and bronze respectively.
