Piedmont Blues aka East Coast or Southeast Blues- almost as old as the Delta Blues, but was born in between the Tidewater coast and Appalachian Mountains of Virgina, the Carolinas, and Georgia. It is delicate and lyrical with a fluid and syncopated finger picking style - the clawhammer, combined with a rag time based rhythm. It’s the style of Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie McTell, and Josh White. #blues #piedmont #appalachian #tidewater #eastcoast
