Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Workers’ Party (PT) was elected president of Brazil after defeating Incumbent Jair Bolsonaro of Liberal Party (PL) in tight runoff. With more than 99% of the votes counted, results showed Lula obtained a thin lead with 50.9% of the votes, against incumbent president Bolsonaro who reached 49.1%.
