Today, JR Hoyas Lacrosse honors the Indigenous peoples who created and have carried forward the game of lacrosse for generations. Known by many Indigenous communities as the Creator’s Game, lacrosse has deep roots in Indigenous culture, tradition, community, and spirituality. What we love about this game today is connected to a rich history that deserves to be recognized, respected, and celebrated. As Hoyas, we believe lacrosse is about more than wins and losses. It’s about teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and being part of something bigger than ourselves. Today, we honor the Native American communities who gave us this incredible game and continue to preserve its traditions and legacy. 💚🥍 Respect the roots. Honor the game. Carry the legacy forward. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #LacrosseRoots #TheCreatorsGame #jrhoyaslacrosse #RespectTheGame
