A few very helpful things I learned from danielnestor1 and budimactennis at their Mastering Doubles Clinic:
1. When you’re volleying don’t break the wrist, & there should be minimal backswing. Daniel used this great analogy of holding a ☕️ cup at the end of the racquet, you don’t want to spill it, so don’t let the racquet head drop.
2. Be sure to be moving forwards diagonally, not left and right when playing the net, this will help you cover more space. One of the biggest problems he sees is people reaching too far in front!
3. When hitting any shot, let the ball come into the power zone so you can hit the sweet spot. In particular, when you’re volleying, prepare at the height of the ball as if you would be catching it, in order to hit it at the right spot!
🎾 If you get the chance, I highly recommend participating in this clinic! It was super fun, active and I got so many valuable tips to help improve my game! 📈 I hope they help you too.
