The Immigration (Transition) (Amendment and Validation) Act, 2026 updates the definition of the term "Caymanian as of right". "Caymanian as of right" means a person who: • Was born in the Islands on or before 26 March 1977 • Was born on or after 1 January 2004, and at least one parent was Caymanian and settled in the Islands at the time of their birth • Was born outside the Islands on or after 1 January 2004, and at least one parent was Caymanian otherwise than by descent at the time of their birth • Acquired Caymanian status under the Immigration Act (2015 Revision) or any earlier law The legislation will take effect on Friday, 1 May 2026. 🔗 Learn more at the link in our bio. #CaymanIslands #ImmigrationReform #GOVKY
