Why do I take $200 off my training board for Connemara ponies? . 1️⃣ I like them. They’re gritty and smart horses. It’s like revisiting friends from childhood. 2️⃣ I know them which takes out any guess work in what training exercises to bring out. I started working with them in high school. (17 years ago) These ponies, they have high self preservation and remember for a lifetime. My TB? She would jump off a bridge for me. My Irish horse, yes he spooks but he’s pretty forgiving in terms of accepting mistakes . These ponies, it’s a careful build up of their confidence , placing them in questions that can be successfully answered.
