What a weekend for Swatchers. . . The big goal this year has been to prepare for our first 3***-Long in three weeks. I started with an easy run at Preliminary in January, before I moved him back up to Intermediate. I’ve tried to be strategic of where we ran to give us good experiences. This past weekend, I’d thought hard about whether to stay home and run this event or travel to a more destination 3*** for the mems. One of my coach quickly told me stay home, put in a solid performance here, then we can go run the longest course of our life in three weeks. . It couldn’t have been a better decision, to run again at our home event at @bouckaertfarm . It felt so good to put in another clear show-jump round and a faster cross-country finish. My coach calls it banking these good results; before I try to push my horse in a situation where I’m a bit nervous or unprepared. .
