Do you wear a safety stirrup? . . When I took lessons as a little child, I remember the fillis irons with rubber band holders that allow the foot to escape the stirrup should you fall. Technology has now made many advances. I now ride in the @shiresequestrianusa Karben Ultra Grip Stirrups. These have a seamless quick release system the naked eye wouldn’t see. The arm is secure until pressure from fall forces open. Then the arm re-engages with a single click. . . I love the other elements. It’s heavy enough to fall flat and not bounce should you lose your stirrup and I love the deep foot plate and “cheese grater” pad to aid my security. .
