One of my bests and I hauled to Aiken today for a quick day trip to take advantage of the derby field at stableview. . I am super happy with the homework we’ve done this winter. There’s just a touch more relaxation in the brain as I’m approaching the solid jumps which plays hugely into the success of a day. Today we worked through more technical exercises and courses, and while the coaching is needed and I’m soaking up every piece of instruction to add to my toolbox, the biggest change is the confidence I have in navigating around the course. That’s just come with going back down a little with the jumps at home, having successful days there one after the other, so then the brain is expecting a good result not a crash and failure. I think not rushing back up after one good day, but consistent practice on some basics. .
