Mythbuster: wild cheetahs don't abandon hunts because they’ve overheated 🐆
For years, researchers thought that cheetahs abandoned chases because they overheated while hunting. A study has since revealed that they actually overheat when a hunt has gone well – and this could be due to an increased state of stress.
Their kill may attract other predators – and post hunt, they’re overtired, and more vulnerable. So a state of alertness is key to their survival.
