Time to monkey around! Which monkey mood best describes you this #InternationalMonkeyDay? 🐒 There are two main types of monkeys: New World monkeys (Platyrrhini) that live in the Americas and Old World monkeys (Cercopithecidae) that live in Asia and Africa. One key difference between the two is that Old World monkeys don’t have prehensile (gripping) tails - New World monkeys do! 📸 #EarthCapture by: Image 1: Japanese Macaque - nobody4425150 Image 2: Rhesus Macaque - charaka.jayaratne Image 3: Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey - mogenstrolle Image 4: Vervet Monkey - roxythezoologist . . . . #japanesemacaque #rhesusmacaque #goldensnubnosedmonkey #vervetmonkey #primates #wildlife #wildlifephotography #monkey
