#ThrowbackThursday to the first ever W logo for Western Illinois University starting in 1900. At this time our University was named Western Illinois State Normal School and opened on September 23, 1902. We had 229 Normal School students and 103 Training School students. John W. Henninger was Western’s first president starting in 1901. From the beginning, Western has been a strong community filled with purpose and potential, and we are looking forward to all the BIG things coming! #WIU #LeatherneckPride
