More than 250 million children are living in extreme poverty, facing risks to their health, development, and future opportunities. With 80% of brain development occurring between conception and age 3, investing in early childhood development is critical.
The Global Child Thrive Act was enacted in 2021 to strengthen early childhood development across U.S. foreign assistance, supporting children’s early learning, health, nutrition, and social-emotional development.
But the Act expired in 2025. Now, the Global Child Thrive Reauthorization Act (H.R. 6347) would extend it through 2030, helping sustain congressional support for these critical priorities.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Investing in early childhood development is an investment in healthier communities and a stronger future.
📣 Reauthorizing the Global Child Thrive Act is a step toward making global poverty a political priority.
