Paige Robertson shoots from inside the scene.
Her practice sits close to the spaces where culture is still forming. Backstage, in the corner, before the pose settles. Southern contemporary culture through hip hop, community, and the people shaping both.
For this feature, we’re looking at a collage of Paige’s photo work, a BTS video she shot in BHM before the Grits & Eggs Cousins Tour, and more.
Shot on analog gear, her videos feels like a breath of fresh air from the 2000s. Frame drops, rough texture, eye-level movement, close proximity.
In Paige’s words: “I’m inspired by 90s hiphop visuals… I get called female hype williams.”
She’s currently building a production studio
@plrudio and shifting her practice into feature films.
