🐾🌱 Protecting local waterways takes both research and community action.   Environmental engineering professor Helena Solo-Gabriele joined City of Miami Beach officials and community members this week to raise awareness about responsible pet waste disposal and its connection to water quality.   The event is part of an ongoing partnership between the College of Engineering and the City of Miami Beach to address bacterial pollution in local waterways. Since 2022, Solo-Gabriele and her team have studied contamination in Park View Canal and tested strategies to reduce bacteria in runoff before it reaches the water.
