This week on the “I’ve Never Said This Before” podcast, I’m joined by actor Deric Augustine (@Deric), who is quickly becoming a fan favorite as Miles Penn on ABC’s The Rookie. With a journey to Hollywood shaped by resilience, loss, and determination, Deric opens up about the unconventional path that led him here, from studying theatre in New Orleans and training in New York to navigating personal tragedy and choosing to keep pursuing his dreams. Deric also takes us inside his experience joining The Rookie, stepping into an established hit series and eventually becoming a series regular. He shares what it was like filming his first day on set, building the character of Miles, possible future showmances, how the cast and crew immediately made him feel like family from day one, and more. He also opens up about his mental health journey, and leaves us with a very powerful never said this before moment.
