one of my favorite forgotten pieces of 2000s pop culture: hayden panettiere’s almost-pop career. in 2008, hayden was signed to hollywood records and released her debut single, “wake up call.” the song was intended to launch her as a solo pop artist, with a full debut album supposed to follow… but it never did. i bought “wake up call” on itunes when it came out in 2008 and have loved it ever since. today, the song isn’t even available to stream in the u.s., and the bigger story behind it has mostly been forgotten too. years before nashville, there was almost an entirely different hayden panettiere music career… crazy how things turned out. ❤️‍🩹 #haydenpanettiere #wakeupcall #2000spop #popculture #2000snostalgia
