To prepare for his role as Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Tim Robbins voluntarily spent time in solitary confinement. He wanted to understand what it felt like to be completely cut off from the world, even if only in a controlled way. Robbins was aware that his experience would never truly replicate what prisoners endure, given that his was entirely by choice, but the intention was to get as close to that psychological reality as he could. #TheShawshankRedemption #TimRobbins #MorganFreeman #Movies #MovieClips
