The studio felt Project X sounded too much like a sci-fi title and pushed to rename it 'Happy Birthday, Thomas Kub', taken from the school jumbotron in the film. Producer Todd Phillips pushed back, arguing the new title made it sound like a feel-good buddy movie, which didn’t match the tone. He also pointed out that the story centers more on Costa than Thomas. With neither side able to land on a better option, the original title stayed. #ProjectX #OliverCooper #Movies #MovieClips
