What do puzzle boxes, mug exchanges, Little Free Libraries, and rubber ducks have in common? They’re all examples of what my friend Rachael calls “sidewalk joy.” Little reasons to get outside, run into neighbors, and build relationships. Sociologists call the value of those relationships social capital. And it’s one of the things that makes communities stronger.
