I wanted to really hone into this aspect as it plays such a huge roll in David’s life & career -David’s cultural & family history as Vietnamese refugees is another massive driving force to David’s story & the food he cooks. I looked to the flavors, ingredients & dishes of Vietnam to build a dish SECONDARY INSPO -Having moved from Vietnam to OC; David grew up in USA. Using this inspo, I wanted to draw in the amazing Mexican/Latin culture via tacos, tortilla, street vendors. -David’s mom worked as a nail tech & his dad as a mechanic & then in construction.
