Meet our giant Vietnamese centipede, Tangerine! Despite her spunky behavior in this video, most centipedes are nocturnal, and Tangerine generally spends her days hidden underground. When hunting, giant Vietnamese centipedes are fearsome predators, moving quickly and even climbing trees to catch their prey. Using their strong jaws, called forcipules, they deliver venom to subdue their prey and coil their bodies around insects, spiders, and other small animals. Visit Butterfly Pavilion this October for a chance to see our centipedes
