It's a day many talk about when discussing the NCAA Tournament. On this date in 1990, lmulions defeated defending national champion Michigan in the highest scoring game in NCAA tournament history, 149-115. Jeff Fryer hit 11-for-15 from three-point range, scoring 41 points. Head Coach Paul Westhead said after the game, “On the bus ride here I instructed our guys to play bombs away. Let ‘em fly…” And they did, all the way to the Elite Eight. Westhead will be back on the LMU campus when he throws out the first pitch with his grandsons to LMU’s first league game against Portland at Page Stadium at 5:45 pm. #lmulions #wcchoops #ilovelmu
