The 3km-long New Yalu River Bridge connecting China and North Korea has finally opened after a 12 year delay. The bridge began construction in 2010 and was fully funded by China. It was supposed to open in 2014 but was delayed due to unfinished roads on the North Korean side and poor relations between the two countries. Chinese Premier Li Qiang says the bridge signals relations between the two countries “are entering a new phase” and it will "further strengthen people-to-people" exchanges. China is North Korea’s largest trading partner, trading £2 million worth of goods last year. #News #Channel4News #NorthKorea #China #Bridge #World
