Heavy gunfire has broken out in Somali’s capital Mogadishu as government forces and opposition fighters clash over a political dispute. The violence broke ahead of planned demonstrations against President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who decided to remain in office ​after his term expired last month. He argued that a new constitution that was passed in March granted him another year in power.
