European leaders have rushed to congratulate Hungary's Péter Magyar after his landslide election victory over Viktor Orbán, who had been in power for 16 years. Magyar told jubilant supporters that "truth prevailed over lies", adding that his government would work for a "European, well functioning and compassionate Hungary".
