Trudi Burgess was left paralysed after being violently attacked by her partner, Robert Easom, at their home on a Monday morning, after years of physical and emotional abuse. She told the court she begged him to get off as she felt her neck snap during what prosecutors described as an uncontrollable rage. “I knew there, and then it was severe, I knew I was never walking again,” she told us. Speaking with Channel 4 News, she says she hopes sharing her story will inspire others experiencing abuse to speak out.
