Nearly 20 years ago, amateur actor Mark Blanco fell to his death from a balcony at a gathering in East London attended by The Libertines frontman Pete Doherty. The mystery of what happened that night remains unresolved but Doherty has always denied involvement. Now, Channel 4 News can reveal that Mark’s mother, Sheila Blanco, has today met with a new police force, City of London, to explore whether a fresh investigation into his death could be launched. In her only TV interview, Sheila says she feels closer to the truth than ever before and believes new scrutiny by a different police force is long overdue. When asked for comment, Doherty’s former literary agent Paul Roundhill told us Mark a “valued friend” and said there were “inaccuracies” and “distortions” in media accounts of the night. #MarkBlanco #PeteDoherty #TheLibertines #C4News #UK
