Shooting stars will be visible in the skies tonight, as the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak. The annual event occurs when the earth moves through the trail of debris left by the Swift-Tuttle comet, which orbits the sun. Around 150 meteors will cross the sky each hour, with the best time to see them late in the night when the skies are darkest. #Shootingstars #Sky #Perseid #MeteorShower #Channel4News #c4news
