20 years of Fruit Bats' Mouthfuls ๐Ÿ’“ Formed in the late '90s, indie folk-rock act fruit_bats grew from the four-track recording project of songwriter Eric D. Johnson into a touring band with an ever-shifting lineup. Constant are Johnson's warm vocals and melodic sensibility, both of which often seem to split the difference between Lennon and McCartney (stated influences include the Byrds, the Kinks, and Supertramp). Produced by Brian Deck, Mouthfuls is a collection of beautiful, heart-felt music in an age that resists beautiful, heart-felt music. Call them love songs dedicated to Ma Nature, primal lullabies, folk-pop gems (with an increasing emphasis on pop). Itโ€™s music for all sorts, or at least, the curious soul in everyone. Oh, and it includes the utterly FANTASTIC "When U Love Somebody." Listen now at the link in our bio. #fruitbats #mouthfuls #whenulovesomebody #subpop #2000sthrowback #indiemusic
