Hooters, the popular restaurant chain recognized for its chicken wings and all-female servers has filed for bankruptcy in a Texas court, the company revealed on Monday. As part of the bankruptcy arrangement, a group including the company's founders, who independently manage about a third of the franchise locations in the U.S., will purchase the company-owned restaurants in the country from the private equity firm that currently owns the chain.
