President-elect Donald Trump has named Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. In a statement, Trump said “Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter.” Stefanik is a staunch supporter of Israel and has criticized the U.N. for what she says is a lack of support for Israel in its war against Hamas. Stefanik was born and raised in upstate New York. She was first elected to the U.S. House in 2014, becoming the youngest woman elected to Congress at the time. #news #elisestefanik #congress #politics #uspolitics #trump
