Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney are back in the courtroom after Vardy’s team have challenged the "sheer magnitude" of the legal costs claimed by Coleen Rooney from their 2022 trial. Rebekah Vardy took Coleen Rooney to court for libel after Coleen tweeted claiming Rebekah had been selling stories to tabloids. Coleen won the case after the judge ruled the claims were substantially true. Rebekah Vardy was ordered to pay 90% of Coleen’s legal fees which have now reached over £1,800,000, and include a stay at a luxury hotel, a dinner at Nobu, and drinks and items from the mini-bar for one of her lawyers. Vardy’s lawyers are disputing the “sheer magnitude of the costs” and “the number of errors in the bill and the extraordinary nature of some of the costs claimed”.
