*For News Purposes Only* More than 8,800 r@pes were reported to the Met Police last year, an average of 24 a day, according to data obtained by the BBC. They also found that a further 11,000 sexual crimes were reported in London last year, meaning the Met received a call about sexual vi0lence every 26 and a half minutes. But charities say the true extent of sexual offending will be far higher. Almost a quarter of all reported crimes were from people aged under 18. London based charity R@pe Crisis say the findings are "horrifying" and "clear urgent change is needed". The Met says it remains determined to tackle sexual violence and is "striving to do better". #metpolice #police #london #charity #women #safetyforwomenandgirls #womenssafety
